Options for Processing Your Legal Paperwork
A People's Choice Inc. can facilitate getting your documents to the appropriate court for processing. In this regard, courts and other agencies are changing the way legal and other documents are processed. California is leading the way to convert to a statewide e-filing system. Some courts already are mandating e-filing of paperwork in certain types of proceedings. When documents are e-filed, we typically receive confirmation of filed paperwork within 2-24 hours as compared to 3-5 weeks or more when filing by mail. In this regard, in order to facilitate processing of your documents and complying with the various courts' changing filing mandates, we require ALL clients to complete this filing authorization form. In some circumstances, we may ask clients to also submit checks to have on hand (just in case) e-filing is not an available option for a particular filing.
When using efiling, you will be charged an efiling service fee assessed by the efiling provider, a nominal processing fee by our office to set up the efiling packet, the actual court filing fees (if there are any) plus a convenience fee based on approximately 6% of the actual court filing fees charged by the court.
Example, if we were filing a set of documents with a $435 court filing fee, the total charges you would incur would be approximately $486.00.

You have selected E-Filing:
: Documents will be uploaded to the court via an e-filing service for fast processing. You understand there will be an e-filing fee charged by the service provider for this service (based on number of pages) plus a staff processing fee of $25.00. You understand e-Filings are typically processed same or next day by the court. Any E-filing services that require more than 15 minutes of staff time to compile/scan large documents will be assessed an additional surcharge based on amount of time expended at the rate of $80/hr. (no charge for the first 15 min.) EFiling is not available for recording of documents such a Grant Deeds with the Recorder's Office.

Documents will be mailed to the court with tracking services. When selecting this option, you understand filing documents with the court will be sent by USPS Priority or Overnight mail. You will be charged the postage fees.
You have selected processing by courier/filing service:
All documents submitted by this process will be hand delivered to the the court or recorder's office. Documents will be submitted by courier at under “standard processing” which means the documents will typically be delivered to the court within 1-4 business days. Ventura County processings are charged at a reduced rate of $15. All other county processings will incur a courier fee estimated between $60-$150 for each batch of documents filed in your case at one time. Rush filing is available at an additional fee. IMPORTANT: Delivery to the court does not mean the court will file them on the day. A People's Choice has absolutely no control over how a court processes submitted documents presented to them and our office is not responsible for any delays once they documents have been presented.

You understand you will incur postage costs for this process to send you the “ready to file” packages. It will be your responsibility to deal with the court or other agency directly regarding the processing of all paperwork.
Optional Same Day Rush Courier Filing
Check here if you to upgrade to same-day rush courier filing by the court filing service. We cannot provide you with a definitive fee for the added rush service but it typically adds $50-$150 to the standard cost.

Any incidental postage, telephone calls, and reprocessing fees, that remain unpaid will be charged to this credit card before any final paperwork is processed to the courts.
