Meet Our Founder
Sandra McCarthy founded A People’s Choice in 1980 and has worked exclusively in the legal field since 1976. She served as the President of CALDA (California Association of Legal Document Assistants) 2004-2005. During her career Ms. McCarthy obtained a Paralegal Certificate from the University of California, Santa Barbara; and has also worked as a freelance paralegal, law office manager and paralegal studies teacher. In the early 1980s our clients came to us through attorney referrals for those people unable to afford full attorney representation. Over the years, the company has expanded to offer low-cost, non-attorney legal document help and services throughout all 58 counties in California, and we offer in-person, telephonic and online interview options for our customers.

As a legal document preparation service and registered Legal Document Assistant, A People’s Choice is dedicated to providing low-cost, self-help legal document preparation services for California consumers. Our corporate office is in Ventura and we have a satellite office in Simi Valley. For people who find themselves in need of legal document preparation for a California matter, our streamlined website and expanded use of technology allows us to easily offer our services for local customers, non-local California residents, out-of-state residents and even people visiting or residing in other parts of the world.
